Our take
3.5/5Washington Park in Troy gives parents a concrete starting point for a DIY birthday: a pavilion rental with a choice of four or eight hours. That flexibility is useful if you want time to set up and gather everyone without rushing straight into the celebration. I would consider it for a family that enjoys organizing its own activities.
The pavilion costs $45 for four hours or $85 for eight hours. Discuss your birthday plans through the recreation department's rental service, including food and setup rules, before choosing the reservation length.
