Our take
3.5/5Iron Hill Park gives an outdoor birthday several possible directions. A group could make the playground the main event, try disc golf or plan a hike, with a picnic as the gathering point. That variety is useful when choosing an outing around the birthday child's interests, though parents should decide which activity will anchor the day.
A pavilion reservation gives the celebration a defined meeting place. County reservations are seasonal and require an online account, so check the reservation calendar before settling on a date. This is a good fit for families who enjoy planning their own park celebration.
