Our take
3/5For a birthday child who wants baseball or softball to be the main event, Rutherford Park is a straightforward option in Newark. A game gives the gathering a shared focus, especially when the invited children already enjoy the sport. Parents can shape the outing around their group's interest and how much time they want to spend playing.
Contact the Parks Permits Office about arrangements before building the invitation around a particular date. The park opens from dawn to dusk, so plan the game and any gathering time within that window. Its appeal is strongest for a sports-focused group.
