Our take
3/5Woodcrest Park is a Montgomery option for parents considering a birthday gathering in a public park. I would approach it with a modest plan that can be adjusted after checking the site and discussing group use with the city. Choose the park because its setting fits the celebration you want, then build the day's activities around that choice.
Before sending invitations, contact the city about gathering rules and any reservation arrangements. A visit to the Thornwood Drive location can help you decide where guests would meet and what you should bring.
