Our take
3/5East Selma Park on Hardie Street lends itself to a low-key birthday idea built around a walk and a place to gather. The walking trail and two gazebo seating areas give that plan a concrete starting point. It suits a group that enjoys spending time together outdoors and whose parents want to organize the celebration themselves.
Keep the destination clear on invitations: East Selma Fishing Pond is a separate listing at Hardie and Plant streets. Contact recreation staff about group use and the gazebo arrangements before planning your gathering around a particular seating area.
