Our take
3/5Porter Park in Dothan is a public-space option to consider for a birthday gathering whose plans you want to shape yourself. Its North Saint Andrews Street location gives families a specific meeting point, and the city's leisure services contact is the place to begin discussing how a children's celebration would work there.
Start with the gathering you have in mind: how many people will come, what the children will do, and whether you need a reserved area. Ask leisure services which arrangements are permitted before sending invitations. This option makes most sense for parents comfortable organizing the occasion themselves.
