Our take
3.5/5Swampoodle Terrace has an appealing balance for a gathering parents organize themselves: flexible play and performance areas give the celebration a focus, and the shaded pergola creates a place to pause. Built in seating is a practical advantage when a group comes together outdoors. The community herb garden adds interest to the setting without needing to become part of the birthday plan.
We would consider it for families who want to shape a gathering around a public space. Ask DPR what the reservation covers and which fee applies before choosing activities. Leave time for the permit application, which should be submitted at least 30 days ahead.
