Our take
3/5The Nelson B. Jones Conference Center at Moundville Archaeological Park suits a birthday built around a family gathering and a program you arrange yourself. Tables, chairs and a full kitchen give parents useful control over the celebration, while seating for 108 makes it an option for a large guest list.
The rental commitment deserves attention for a smaller party. Partial days cost $100 an hour with a four-hour minimum, compared with $600 for the full day. A separate $300 refundable security deposit also affects the upfront budget. The strongest reason to choose it is the equipped gathering space.
