Our take
3.5/5For a family that enjoys planning its own park outing, Tallulah Gorge State Park is a good birthday choice. A covered picnic shelter reservable for birthdays gives the gathering a useful base, while hiking and geocaching make the park appealing to a group that likes being outdoors.
I would choose it for a picnic with activities selected around the children's interests. Keep swimming plans seasonal, and call the park to confirm picnic shelter capacity before reserving. That capacity check belongs early in the planning, before you settle the guest list.
