Our take
2.5/5Ice climbing gives Ouray Ice Park a very specific birthday appeal: it suits a child whose celebration is built around an existing interest in the activity. The climbing itself would be the reason to choose this outing, so consider carefully whether the invited children share that enthusiasm before shaping the day around it.
Timing is a firm constraint. The park closed after its 2025 to 2026 winter season and expects to reopen for 2026 to 2027. Treat a birthday there as a winter plan and confirm reopening before committing to a date. Arrange the practical details of the climbing outing before sending invitations.
