Our take
3/5Montezuma County Fairgrounds is worth considering for a birthday built around a community event in Cortez. The grounds host fairs and rodeos as well as concerts, so the appeal depends on choosing an occasion the birthday child actually wants to attend. That makes the event calendar central to the decision.
For a separate celebration, contact the fairgrounds office about event use before organizing the guest list. Parents considering this setting should decide whether they want a group outing to an existing event or space for their own gathering, then discuss that plan with the office.
