Our take
3.5/5Ord Bend Park has the practical basics for a simple outdoor birthday gathering: day-use and picnic areas, plus restrooms. Its Sacramento River location gives the outing a waterside setting, making it a good fit for a family that wants to arrange a relaxed picnic together.
The park is also a public boat launch, so choose your gathering spot with that use in mind. Parents should plan how to keep children together near the river and launch area. Ask about group picnic arrangements before committing, and center the celebration on the day-use space rather than assuming boating is part of the plan.
