Our take
3.5/5Grover Hot Springs State Park suits a birthday built around a picnic and time on the trails. The Markleeville park also has a campground, giving families another way to shape an outdoor celebration. For a child who enjoys exploring, the park setting gives the day a clear focus without needing a scheduled party program.
Keep the picnic and trail plans workable on their own. Pool availability needs a direct check because the park information showed conflicting status, so swimming should stay off the invitation until confirmed. Day use runs from sunrise to sunset.
