Our take
3/5Veterans Park in Monroeville works for a casual playground birthday when the family is comfortable sharing the setting. Birthday gatherings are permitted at Kids Corner Playground during public opening hours. That makes it a reasonable choice for parents organizing their own celebration around playground time, provided the group can stay flexible about other visitors.
The playground cannot be reserved, so plan for public use throughout the gathering. Hours end at 4 p.m. from November through March and 7 p.m. from April through October. For a different format, the pool is available for after-hours rental at $75 per hour; contact City Hall about arrangements.
