Our take
4/5Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo gives a birthday group a substantial gathering window: three and a half hours in a private room, with a facility attendant and admission for 25 guests. An optional one-hour program can focus on science, rocks and fossils, bugs or zoo animals, making the theme a useful match for the child's interests.
The program is an extra charge, so include it when comparing costs. Resident and nonresident room rates differ, especially for Science Lab 2. Parties run on weekends, and room limits are 30 or 40 guests, with additional admissions beyond the included 25 charged separately.
