Our take
3.5/5Carney Island gives an outdoor birthday several possible directions: a playground and picnic gathering, a walk, or time at the beach and swimming area. Volleyball adds another option for a group that enjoys games. That variety suits families who want to organize the day around their children's interests and handle the celebration themselves.
The daily entry fee is $7 per vehicle, so account for separate arriving cars. Pets and animals are not permitted. Closing time changes with the season: the park stays open until 8 PM from March through October and closes at 5 PM from November through February.
