Our take
3/5Lyons Park is a possible starting point for a self-organized birthday in Mobile, with the city providing event-services information and a rentals-and-permits route. It is best approached as public group use, so families should be ready to arrange the celebration around the permissions and space the city confirms.
Before choosing a date, ask whether your group needs a permit, what area can be reserved, and whether food or decorations have specific rules. Check the cost and access to tables before deciding what to bring. Keep the guest list and activity plan flexible until you know what the booking actually covers.
