Our take
4/5Matthews Park's First Security Pavilion makes a good base for a birthday with activities the family chooses. The park has a barrier-free playground, with a skate park, fishing pond, and walking trail giving families other options to consider. A $50 reservation secures a two-hour pavilion slot, keeping the space cost clear from the start.
Book the pavilion online and choose activities that suit the children's interests. The splash pad is seasonal, open Memorial Day through Labor Day from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., so plan around those dates if water play is central to the celebration.
