Our take
3/5Lakewood Golf Course in Phenix City makes the most sense for a birthday child whose interest in golf drives the celebration. For that family, choosing a course gives the outing a clear focus. I'd keep the guest list centered on children who share that interest and discuss the proposed visit with the course before inviting anyone.
The useful planning question is how a children's group would spend its time there. Call about arrangements for your particular group, including adult participation, and decide separately how to handle the birthday meal.
