Our take
3/5For a Jamestown birthday, Fort Getty Park is worth considering when the family wants to organize an outdoor gathering. Think about what would hold the invited children's interest and how much of the day you want to arrange yourselves. A park celebration works best when the activities suit the group you are bringing.
Call about your proposed use before settling on a meeting point or sending invitations. Ask which areas can accommodate the gathering and what rules apply to food and activities. Choose a backup plan for weather before confirming the date.
