Our take
3.5/5Ruffner Park Sports Complex gives an outdoor birthday several possible directions: a playground gathering, a picnic, or a celebration built around baseball or softball. The picnic area and barbecue pit make it worth considering for families who want the meal to be part of the occasion. Match the plan to what the children actually enjoy doing together.
Keep the rental choices separate when budgeting. The pavilion fee is $250, with a refundable $250 damage deposit, while field rental is listed at $1,500. Ask the city which arrangement covers your planned activities before reserving. For a casual gathering, that distinction can substantially change the budget.
