Our take
3.5/5Sugar Shack in Bastrop is a sweets shop with a bulk candy wall, and its party package pairs crafts with dessert. For two hours on a private patio, a dedicated host leads kids through painting a plaster figure, making bottled sand art and mixing slime. Each child then gets a large scoop of ice cream or cookie dough with toppings and a drink, and the birthday child takes home a Sugar Shack T-shirt.
The price is $140 for seven kids, the minimum, and $20 for each additional child up to 20. Tablecloth, plates, napkins and party hats are set up for you. The optional Candy Run, $10 per person, lets each guest fill a bag from the candy wall.
