Our take
3/5Pavilion A sits in Rio Vista Park on Cheatham Street in San Marcos, one of the city's rentable picnic shelters for private gatherings like birthday parties. The city also books after-hours pool parties at Rio Vista Pool in summer, which is a separate reservation from the pavilion.
This is a space rental, so you bring the food, decorations and supervision. Check availability on the city's calendar first, then submit the facility reservation request; fees are listed on the city's pricing sheet. Public events here need a separate special event permit.
