Our take
3/5For parents putting together their own birthday gathering in Thomaston, the civic center is a public-facility option to consider. It suits a family that wants to arrange the celebration itself and work through the reservation with the county recreation department. Think through what the children will do before choosing the space for your plans.
The firm planning constraint is timing: reservations must be made at least 14 days ahead. You can reserve through the county's online registration portal or call the department. Start with that deadline when deciding on a date and sending invitations.
