Our take
4/5Fagan's Park is an appealing fit for a simple birthday picnic in Piedmont. A covered pavilion with tables and shade gives the gathering a focal point, while the playground and courts offer ways to build in play. Free public access makes it particularly worth considering when the family wants to direct the celebration itself.
The public setting calls for flexible expectations about sharing the park. Do not treat a covered pavilion as a private party booking without checking arrangements first. Contact the city about your intended gathering, and plan activities, refreshments and a weather alternative around the outdoor format.
